Twice this year my Middle Schooler has been faced with movies being shown in class that are questionable. We have addressed these things directly with teachers, but I’d like to know, bigger picture, how movies and media are evaluated? Do they need to go through any evaluation process or approval process with anyone? Thanks.

Where can I find information on the 9th grade orientation for a current 8th grader at Acadia? I heard info was mailed home, but I never received it.

A.  Teacher recommendations were mailed on January 22nd. This mailing included a letter from Principal Don Flint, which included the February 10th HSW parent/student orientation info. If a parent did not receive this mailing they should contact their child’s counselor.

Just wondering…what action will be taken since this MRSA diagnosis in Acadia? The e mail mentioned a sterilization of the building that will interrupt school.

A. It is impossible to sterilize a school. Staph is present everywhere. We send out a notice so that parents are aware in case their child shows symptoms.
