

Located in the northern part of the district, Chango Elementary School is one of four off-campus schools. It opened in 1974.
Chango Student Council raised money for the American Red Cross. The money went directly to the Tornado Victims of the Midwest. Executive Director, Gary Ferris, made a special visit to their Student Council meeting to say, "Thank you!"

Daniel Wade, a fifth grader at Chango Elementary was one of only 3 students representing Shenendehowa at the Regional Spelling Bee at Proctors Theater in Schenectady. He lasted for four rounds and surpassed several eighth grade contestants from schools around the entire region.
Katie Flood & Evelyn Gile represented Chango/Shen in a 5th grade colorguard competition in Homer, NY and won 1st place! ALL 4 Shen teams won 1st place in their division!

During the month of December Chango's Student Council donated several hundred hats, gloves, scarves and mittens to CAPTAIN and the Schoharie families still struggling to recover from the flood.

The CogAT test is used to assess students’ abilities in reasoning and problem solving using verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal (spatial) symbols. Information gathered about a student through administration of the CogAT test may be used by the school for instructional planning and to identify students who qualify for further testing for math acceleration. For students currently enrolled in Shenendehowa, this will be the only time of year that this testing will be offered. Chango celebrated Veteran's Day with a special "Wall of Honor." Veteran names, military divisions, and photos were displayed. We are thankful for our Veterans!
Chango Student Council collected non-perishable food items during the month of November. All items collected went to the Schoharie Flood victims and the Jonesville Food Pantry.

Chango's Student Council supported the victims of the Schoharie flood. They collected items like canned goods, blankets, coats, and toys. Truckloads of donations were sent to the area. Thank you to the Chango community!
