parents and friends into the classroom for their ‘Wax
Museum’. The children researched a person of interest and
wrote a five paragraph essay, made a windsock, a biopoem
and held a wax museum showcasing their famous people.

Shatekon students produce morning announcements videos that are broadcast once a week throughout the school. Click here to view the latest edition. These students are strengthening their reading, writing, speaking and media literacy skills.
4th Grade - Miss Smith’s & Mrs. Cushman’s fourth graders are working in collaborative partnerships on an animal research project called, “Ask The Animal.”
1st Grade - Shatekon 1st graders recently wrote informational How-To books. The students enjoyed writing steps for all the things they know how to do!
QUEST students in Shatekon use math and problem-solving skills to program Lego Robotics.
Teams from Okte, Tesago and Shatekon competed in a reading tournament in March. Shen Kids Read was modeled after the “Battle of the Books” competitions, and involved students answering questions about several books in a game show fashion. [MORE]
