Shatekon Elementary School Supply Lists |
|
Beginning September 2009, Shenendehowa has prepared
district-wide supply list guidelines for elementary schools.
is an effort to regulate the amount of supplies that parents have to
purchase at the beginning of the year. Welcome to kindergarten at
Shatekon! We hope you will find the following details helpful in
making your child’s first year happy and successful. The following items should be
brought to school on your child’s first day. 1 Box of Jumbo Crayola Crayons 1 Box of Dixon Ticonderoga #2
sharpened pencils 1 Pack of Block Erasers (pink
or gum) Last names A-M a box of Thick
Crayola Markers Last names N-Z a box of Thin
Crayola Markers 1 Recent, close up picture of
your child (that we will trim to 2”x2”) for our word wall. Last names A-E a box of Ziploc
Freezer bags- gallon size Last names F-J a box of Ziploc
Sandwich Bags Last names K-R a large box of
tissues Last names S-Z unlined index
cards 2 large glue sticks (NOT
LIQUID GLUE) 2 sturdy, laminated folders
with 2 pockets at the bottom Except for the folders, all
supplies will be shared with the entire class. Therefore, it is not
necessary to label items with your child’s name. ACTIVITY FEE- We will be doing a
few activities throughout the year that may require teachers to pay
for supplies (i.e. field trips, baking, celebrations, art projects,
etc). We will be asking for a small fee per child as we get closer
to the actual date of each activity or project. BACKPACKS- Please be sure your
child carries a backpack to school everyday. The backpack must be
large enough to hold a snack, clothing and large craft projects, and
should be easy for your child to open and close. REMEMBER…a simple
zipper and a large backpack work best! SNACK- Every child is
responsible for bringing his/her own snack from home. We suggest
that parents send a small juice box or refillable juice container
your child can open and close independently. Please limit the
amount of food you send to school in order to allow your child to
move onto the next activity after a short nutritional snack break.
Please DO NOT send items such as candy, cookies, brownies or soda.
Suggestions include: vegetable sticks, fruit, crackers, yogurt,
cheese, etc. LABELING- Please label your
