SENIOR PRIVILEGES AND STUDENT PARKING
Posted on September 2, 2011
If you meet the eligibility guidelines, see Mr. Heckman to
register.
Posted on September 1, 2011

You can drive any motorized vehicle as long as you have a parking pass.
Posted on April 26, 2011
The passes are checked daily by a monitor. If you have additional
information we are not aware of, please contact the Class Assistant
Principal’s Office at 881-0314.
Posted on November 8, 2010
Yes, just notify the principal.
Posted on September 2, 2011
Please see Mrs. Grzeskowiak in the North Main Office.
Posted on April 1, 2010
Students who are habitually late to school, are failing courses and/or
have excessive referrals will not earn senior privileges that include
driving to school.
Posted on September 15, 2010
They can as long as they meet the criteria.
Posted on April 26, 2011
There were announcements made that no additional parking permits would
be given out due to the snow and lack of parking spaces. Many students
have been parking without permits and announcements were made as a
warning. Juniors do not receive parking passes.
Posted on May 4, 2011
It is under discussion.
Posted on June 14, 2011
There will be registration for this in the summer. Watch the website and
email for details.
Posted on July 27, 2011
As long as they obtain a parking pass.
Posted on September 2, 2011
You would get a temporary pass at the CAPs Office.
Posted on April 28, 2008
Seniors will be allowed late arrival and early release by meeting
specific criteria as seniors. Students are not, however, able to
change their schedules simply to create a schedule that gives them a
study hall at the beginning or end of the day.

Five credits (courses) plus physical education
per Board of Education policy.
Posted on July 31, 2008
The Regents exams currently have no impact on
senior privileges. However, they remain important parts of the
overall assessment of the student's academic performance.
Posted on September 9, 2009
No.
Posted on October 22, 2009
Students may not exceed 3 unexcused tardies to school per five week
period.
Posted on December 23, 2009
It could be both. Late to school will certainly cause a loss of
privileges. Late to class will cause additional consequences that likely
will result in the loss of privileges.

To our knowledge, almost all school districts
charge students to park. In fact, Shenendehowa has one of the lower
parking fees in Suburban Council. The money goes into the general
budget as a revenue source and is used to offset expenses including
monitors, paving, plowing, security, etc.
Posted on December 10, 2009
You pay money to park because you don't have to drive. The district
provides transportation for every student. Teachers do not have that
option.
Posted on July 20, 2009
Because there are not enough parking spaces for all the
seniors, much less juniors.
Posted on April 10, 2008
Some parking spots are located near the
building at East and appear not to be used. However, they are
reserved for teachers and administrators who work in both East and
West or East and another district building and travel during the day
between schools.

A limited number of one day temporary parking permits
are available to students who have a medical or legal obligation.
Students must bring a note from their parents and present this to the
Class Assistant Principal with the date the permit is needed, vehicle
information, and parent contact number at least one day prior to the
date the permit is needed
Posted on February 8, 2010
No. However, attendance is considered and is a major criteria for
seniors to earn privileges such as parking.
Posted on June 1, 2010
We are looking at this student suggestion very seriously to help us
create more room in the student parking lot.
Posted on February 6, 2008
Why can't 11th-grade
students get parking passes?

Because there are not enough parking spaces.
Posted on December 17, 2009
Warning, then appropriate consequences (restrictions, detention, etc.),
and then towing the vehicle.
Posted on December 17, 2009
Your car insurance will cover the cost, but any legal obligations would
be verified through our surveillance videotape.
Posted on November 9, 2009
We do have surveillance cameras at the high school that may have
captured the incident. You should report it to the high school principal
to investigate and possibly get law enforcement involved.
Posted on June 11, 2009
No.
Posted on November 7, 2008
Only seniors have parking
privileges...approximately 350 parking spaces, 700 seniors.
Posted on August 31, 2009
We advise students, because of traffic, to be at school as close to
7:20 am as possible. However, students need to be here by 7:40 am.
Posted on August 31, 2009
No.
Posted on December 19, 2008
Students who violate traffic laws while on campus will lose their
parking privileges. When these are reported, consequences are
given to students.
Posted on January 9, 2009
Yes, a parking pass will be expected.
Please see Mr. Ripchik in the South Office for instructions.
Posted on April 24, 2009
There are progressive discipline consequences for parking on campus
which can range from a warning to a suspension.
Posted on May 13, 2009
Only medical reasons or extenuating circumstances would allow for a
temporary parking pass. You need to talk with the class assistant
principal.
Posted on May 6, 2009
If they have not kept the "agreement" to park,
the privilege will be revoked. The rules and guidelines are made
very clear to students who earn parking privileges.
Posted on May 6, 2009
Only seniors who have met the criteria can
park on campus, along with some other, select few students whose
personal circumstances necessitate them driving and parking on campus.
Working after school does not fall into that category.
Posted on October 14, 2009
Many years ago there was an incident with a fight and that practice was
discontinued by the church.
