Posted on April 30, 2008 If an 8th grader is in jeopardy of failing a class what is the procedure for the moving up ceremony? Do they go to the ceremony then summer school? When would you find out if they are going to pass or not?
All Grade 8 students are invited to participate in the Moving Up Ceremony. To find out if you are not going to pass a class, contact your teacher.

Attire should be appropriate for an evening event where each student walks across the stage to be recognized by parents , teachers and other students. Students are encouraged to dress nicely, most boys wear collared shirts and pants and most girls wear skirts or dresses.

It is a moving up ceremony, not a graduation. Awards are presented to some students in each building in recognition of academic achievement, good citizenship, and attendance. Every student receives a moving up certificate.
