Science Video Project

Your assignment is to video tape a science show off of TV which is related to some aspect of Earth Science….(weather, volcanoes, earthquakes, space, etc.)  DVD-R's are acceptable also.

The following are the guidelines you are to follow if you choose to complete a video project for Earth Science extra credit.

1.     Extra credit for 5 points added to your total points, not your average.

2.     Your project must use a new video tape of good quality

3.     When turned in, your video tape (or DVD-R)should come with the jacket and labeled with YOUR NAME, the title and how long the video is.

4.     When completed, the video tape is kept for our video files, you will not get the tape back.

5.     The program must be applicable to a High School Earth Science class.  NO Sesame Street or Magic School Bus.

6.     You will need to screen out all commercials by pressing pause when commercials begin and again when the program returns.

7.     When you finish recording the program get a sheet of paper.  On that sheet of paper write the Title, subject, date, time, channel, and length of the program.

8.     Then, TO GET AN EXTRA 5 POINTS write a ½ to 1 page summary of the content of the program and identify any points of interest in the program. (ex. Good explanation of a volcano 15 minutes into tape)

9.     ALWAYS tape on SP (standard play). This is best quality, 2 hour speed.

10. ONLY ONE PROJECT WILL BE ACCEPTED PER QUARTER  PER PERSON
