The Middle Schools have made a concerted effort to minimize supply cost.  All supply lists have been developed to have a total cost of less than $50, not including the materials that will be used all three years (section 2).  The supply lists below have been broken into three sections.  The first section lists the supplies needed for regular 8^th grade classes (Math, Social Studies, English, Science, LOTE, and Technology/Health).  The second section is a list of items that have likely been used in 6^th and 7^th grade (you may already have these supplies).  The final section includes special notes and accelerated courses.   There may be other supplies required throughout the year.

Section 1

4-Subject dividers (pack of ~ 5)
1-Package (~12) blue/black pens
2-Package (~12) #2 Pencils
3-Highlighters (3 different colors)
3-3 ring binder - 2 inch
3-3 ring binder - 1.5 inch
2-Loose leaf paper
1-1 pack graph paper
1-3 subject notebook

1-Pocket Folder
1-1 low odor dry erase marker
4-Package of index cards (3x5)

Section 2

1-Calculator (non-graphing)6th may use a simple 4 function ($3), 7 & 8 will use TI scientific (TI 30- XIIS) , Scientific may be used for all 3 years
1-Package of colored pencils
1-Scissors
1-Compass
1-1 metric/standard ruler (12 inch)
1-Protractor
1-Combination Lock (grade 7 & 8) Supplied in Grade 6
1-Thumb drive (~ 4 GB)
1-1 soft pencil case with grommets

Special Notes:

The 6 binders are for Math, SS, Eng, Sci., LOTE, and Tech/Health.

****Accelerated students will be notified in September as to which calculator they will need.

**** Students will have to purchase a workbook for their foreign language again this year if they do not have their workbook from last year or if they are new to the district. The workbooks can be purchased at the Middle School Book Store when they begin their language class.
