Earth Day Celebration-
On April 29th, Gowana Team 6-2, had a delayed Earth Picnic. The point of the celebration was to get out, enjoy the outdoors that Mother Nature provided us and use as little electricity as possible. [ ]

The Middle School Technology Committee held the first annual Middle School Technology Night on Wednesday January 21st. The evening helped parents become more familiar with how their child is learning in classrooms that use a variety of computer technology for direct instruction and the ancillary software sites that support their learning. (Chromebooks, BYOD, Google Drive, School Network, Parent / Student Portal, etc). [ ]

More than 120 cans were collected by Gowana's Gr. 6 World of Difference club members. Cans were donated to the Helping Hands Food Pantry located at the Jonesville United Methodist Church. The World of Difference Club encourages students to act as stewards of the environment and community issues while empowering them to enhance their 21st century skills. Working with Mr. Andersen and Mrs. Erno, 6th grade students identify issues of concern and create sustainable, reproducible improvements in local communities by investigating how others have impacted communities around the world
as a part of the historical fiction unit, Gowana students listen to a presentation by Mrs. Quattrocci about the Holocaust and her family members who were involved.

No prior knowledge of technology or materials are necessary for this evening.
