The MS health department coordinated a GO RED fundraiser and raised more than $400 for the American Heart Association.
The Middle School Technology Committee held the first annual Middle School Technology Night on Wednesday January 21st. The evening helped parents become more familiar with how their child is learning in classrooms that use a variety of computer technology for direct instruction and the ancillary software sites that support their learning. (Chromebooks, BYOD, Google Drive, School Network, Parent / Student Portal, etc). [ ]

Koda Gr. 7 students and members of the Tribuilding Sewing Club made three quilt tops for the Shen Quilt project held at Karigon on MLK Day.
On Tuesday, January 20th, Koda Critter Club was joined by Koda’s Mentor Club in a demonstration by our local K-9 Trooper. Trooper Krul visited our two groups in the Acadia Library, where he discussed the training and job of his K-9 partner Frey.

The Koda Future Cities Team competed last weekend and won best Sim City Model and Most Innovative Design for Environmental Sustainability. Team members: Kaylee Park, Shrutthi Kannaathaal, Chris Du, Joe Friedman, Andrew Bay, Shawn Oh, Erik Hwang, Srineeth Jayanthi, Yeonwoo Kim, Jeffery Wang, Sean Hwang, Angela Dominelli, Trevor Campbell, and Brian Hartley and advisor Joe Sliwinski. 
National Junior Honor Society raised more than $1,900 for Floyd Warriors by selling bracelets and sponsoring Wear Pink for The Day.
The first annual Middle School Technology Night will be held on Wednesday January 21st, 6:30-8:00 (snow date Tues. Jan. 27th). We would like to request that everyone register online at Bit.ly/shenPTN. Please come join us and become more familiar with how your child is learning in classrooms that use a variety of computer technology for direct instruction and the ancillary software sites that support their learning. Our team is eagerly waiting to present to you with the latest classroom technology that your children are using each day in the middle school (Chromebooks, BYOD, Google Drive, School Network, Parent / Student Portal, etc). No prior knowledge of technology or materials are necessary for this evening.

The Koda Student Council collected and donated books to the Akuffo Tom School in Ghana, Africa. As a thank you, the African school named their library the Koda Library.
