Announcements:
Thank you for making the time to attend the parent - teacher - child conference. It was great talking to you all, discussing the accomplishments for the 1st quarter, and planning our goal together for the next few months. Please take the time to reflect on the conference and complete the "homework" :) questions. Return the signed comment sheets in the IPF. Your feedback is appreciated.
The Important Papers Folders (IPF green folder) goes home every Wednesday and needs to be returned and signed by a parent by Friday. Remember that the children will receive a MAS (Missing Assignment Slip) if they do not have the folder with a parent signature by Friday. PLEASE...look for the folder on Wednesday and help get it back to school by Friday.
Language Arts:
Spelling - Week #12 this week - compound words. Pretest Monday...Test on Friday.
English - We will begin a new unti of study on Pronouns.
Reading - Our class is doing a GREAT JOB with the "Read to Self" component of our language arts. We are building our stamina and enjoying some great books! Please remember that it is a HW assignment for each child to READ NIGHTLY and get a PARENT SIGNATURE in their reading log found in their Good Fit Book Bag. It is your child's job to fill out the log and get you to sign it. Any child who doesn't have a parent signature will receive a MAS for the incomplete work.
Writing - Our focus in writing is on a special piece that fits with the holiday season called "Gifts Monday Can't Buy".
Math: Chapter 5- Algebraic Expression will begin on Tuesday.
Science: Mr. Grignon's class: This week we will be conducting our group experiments on Monday and Wednesday. Be prepared with your material for Monday.
Social Studies - Great job on the chapter 5 test! We will continue to learn about our Northeast region this week.
