* A Red Giant is a star at the end of a VERY long life.. * An example of a Red Giant is Betelgeuse. It is found in the Constellation Orion. It looks red in the sky.. * Without Red Giants there would be no life as we know it! * When a Red Giant is ending, the small ones fade away and the big ones explode. * Our sun is 4.5 billion years old! It will live about 5 billion years longer. *When the sun turns 9 billion years old, it will grow so rapidly it can suck up Mercury, Venus, Earth and other planets. Our sky will be red.. No one will be here because the earth’s temperature will be 4000 degrees! |
