Dear Parents of third graders,

As a part of our third-grade physical education program, all third graders participate in swimming lessons at the YMCA.  Students need not be a member and are grouped according to ability level.  This unique opportunity offered to us by the YMCA allows us to meet one of the new learning standards of the Goals 2003.  It will also equip our students with essential water safety skills that are so important, especially in the area in which we live.

Beginning in March, our third graders will go to the YMCA once a week during their physical education class for one-half hour of instruction.  The program will last six weeks.  The cost for each student will be $15.00.  This fee pays for the instructors.

A more detailed letter will be sent home at the end of January as to the specifics.  If you have any questions, please call us at the extension below.  Thank you.
