Target Behavior Charts

"Have a 5 Check Day"

Students in the program will each have their own Target Behavior Chart. Because the program in designed to improve upon social skills, each student will be given five target behaviors to work on. Each of the five target behaviors are individual to each child's needs. Each behavior is given a check   or a minus (-) at the end of each school day. The teacher and the aides work together to decide this, given the overall day.  Target behaviors are calculated each Thursday in percentages. A week runs from the previous Thursday to the following Thursday. The students will then be on a new level each Friday morning until the following Thursday and it repeats all over again. The goal for each student is to get five checks a day. If not five checks a day, at least three checks a day to be on level 2.  The levels are as follows:

Level 1-  Below  60%

Level 2-  60%- 74%

Level 3-  75%- 80%

Level 4-   85% - 100%

Behaviors are charted and graphed to give an overall look at where the student is having the most difficulty and from there, what can we do as a team to help them improve in this area. There are certain consequences to a student being on a level 1. This student may not go to recess for that week and depending upon the severity of the behaviors, may not be allowed to attend field trips and other fun classroom activities.
