Homework Policy

** NOTE: These are the policies and procedures for the entire 5th grade. **

Homework Policy: Students will generally have homework Monday through Thursday, and occasionally long term projects to work on over the weekend.

MAS (Missing Assignment Slip): For each assignment that is not complete, or left at home, the student will receive an MAS. The assignment must come in the next day.

Fabulous Fifth Grade Fridays: About every two weeks for 30 minutes on Friday afternoon, we will have a celebration for students with 1 or no MAS slips. and no behavior slips. There will be a work room for students with 2 or more MAS slips OR 1 or more behavior slip.

Assignment Notebooks: The students will write every assignment in their notebooks before they leave school, including reminders of upcoming quizzes, tests, and projects. On a daily basis, please sit down with your child and go through his/her portfolio and assignment notebook. This routine will help keep you aware of your child's assignments, as well as help instill the importance of being responsible about school work in your child.
