5th Grade Math Curriculum:

* Some 5th grade math units are: Place Value of Whole Numbers and Decimals, Algebra, Data & Graphing, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Geometry, and Measurement

* In late April / early May the students will take the Fifth Grade New York State Math Test

* The district's math series is entitled Math Connects.  The link below will allow you to access an online copy of the student textbook, online tutorials of particular lessons, practice examples, and games to reinforce the skills taught in class.  Try it out!

Strategies to Be Successful in Math:

* Take your math work & notes packets (or notebook) home every night to review the day's lesson as well as previous lessons in the unit

* Do NOT rush and take your time during class as well as when working on your homework

* Pay attention in class, participate, and ask questions if you have them!

* Practice your math facts at home every night with flashcards or with some of the links to games below
