Weekly Spelling Homework

 MONDAY: WORD JUMBLES

- For each number 1-10, unscramble the letters to form one of your spelling words (NOTE: not all of your spelling words will be used on the sheet)

- On the line below the jumbled letters, write the correct spelling word 3 times

  ** Please make sure that you are spelling each word correctly on the line  **

-  After you are finished with the word jumbles, go back through and cover up one word at a time

o       Spell that word aloud and check to see that you spelled it correctly

o       Do this for all 10 of the words

- You must turn the word jumble sheet into Miss Baker on Tuesday during class

TUESDAY: ALPHABETICAL ORDER

- Write each of your words on an index card (or a cut-up piece of paper)

- Then, on the table or on the floor, put the cards in alphabetical order from A-Z

- Next, write the words numbered in alphabetical order on a piece of looseleaf paper

- You must turn the looeleaf paper into Miss Baker on Wednesday during class

WEDNESDAY: SENTENCES

- Choose 10 of your spelling words to write in sentences on a piece of loosleaf paper

o       Each of the 10 words must be written in its own sentence- You should have a total of 10 sentences

o       Each of your sentences must show me that you know the meaning of the spelling word

o       ** See the checklist for writing spelling sentences **

- You must turn your sentences into Miss Baker on Thursday during class

THURSDAY: LOOK, SAY, COVER, WRITE, CHECK AND STUDY

- Study for your spelling test using the Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check Folder (cut-up manila envelope)

- Study any other way that you find helpful

- You must turn your Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check sheet into Miss Baker on Friday during class
