Science Curriculum Overview

The program for science at fourth grade focuses on Invertebrates and Vertebrates. We examine animal adaptations and behaviors. Students study the impact that each living creature has on its environment.
In addition, students will also study the principles of scientific inquiry, motion, and design. Students will use hands-on units involving electrical circuits, simple machines, and physical and chemical properties of matter.
Students in fourth grade will have science instruction every other month. Students will be alternating Science and Social Studies instruction. To access the rotation schedule, click here. To access your child's Social Studies web resources, please click here.
