Kindergarten Math 

 

September: We will begin our math program with sorting and classifying colors and shapes.

 

October: We will be learning and discussing patterns and movements. The students will be able to recognize, describe, extend, and repeat a pattern.

 

November: The students will count from 0 - 10 forwards and backwards. We verbally will count from 0 - 20.

 

December: Using prior knowledge about patterns, the students will be able to create an "It's a Wrap" performance prompt.

 

January: Seasons, calendar (months of the year and days of the week), and beginning addition.

   

 

February: We will be adding numbers up to 10.

 

March: Our next chapter in kindergarten will be on geometry and equal parts. We will be describing characteristics and relationships of different objects.

 

April:

 

May: The student will measuring different objects. We will also be starting a subtraction unit.

 

June: Continue with subtraction and review all kindergarten math concepts.
