Last year, Shenendehowa adopted the Harcourt "Trophies" English/Language Arts series. The series is broken up into 6 themes. Each theme takes approximately five weeks to complete. Each week we will read a story, or an excerpt from a story, that will focus on skills and strategies. Vocabulary, comprehension, grammar, spelling, and writing are all incorporated into the themes.
The Harcourt company has also created an on-line resource with supplemental activities that go along with each of the themes. Below you will find the link to the Harcourt Learning Site as well as the breakdown of each theme. Please feel free to visit the site as it contains extra practice for grammar and writing skills, as well as ideas for creative writing and interactive games.
