Our Black History unit is a favorite with teachers and students.  Second graders learn the history of African Americans in our country from the time of slavery to the modern era.  Some of the important individuals we study include Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr., Harriet Tubman, Ruby Bridges, and  Rosa Parks.
