Reading in    Second Grade

    As part of our Second Grade Language Arts program, students will participate in Reading Workshops each week.  During these workshops, children will read independently and in small group settings at their instructional level.  They will also have opportunities to read individually with their teacher(s).

    The Harcourt Reading Program will be a central instructional resource used to deliver reading instruction to Shenendehowa second graders.

     Our program is integrated throughout the curriculum areas (Math, Social Studies, Science, ...).   In these areas, students will participate in whole group, individual and cooperative small group/partner reading experiences.
