         Writing

     As part of our writing program, students will participate in a number of Writing Workshop times each week.  Writing Workshop provides an opportunity for students to communicate meaning through writing.  The children will work through the generation of topics, the planning of writing, writing, and revision.  They will choose which pieces are to be taken through the entire process.

     Mini-lessons, exposure to various genres, and a combination of independent work, and one-on-one work with adult help are Writing Workshop components.

     Students write throughout all curriculum areas and for authentic purposes.
