Overview of Curriculum

 

 

 

Text: Horizons: New York    Harcourt

    The program for fourth grade focuses on New York State and its relationship to the nation.  We begin with map skills and the geography of our state.   We will also cover local history and early state history. This study begins with Indigenous Native Americans, the Dutch settlements, New York's role in the Revolutionary and Civil wars, and the development of the Erie Canal.  Other topics include immigration and state government.
