Podcasting (creating and linking audio content to the web) can promote learning in powerful ways by giving students and teachers a voice that goes beyond the classroom walls. With just a microphone and free software, students can be weather broadcasters, poets, historical commentators or foreign travel guides broadcasting their voices (and knowledge) to anyone connected to the Internet. Want students to retain what they learn in school? Create your own teacher podcasts with content they can download at home for review and reinforcement.
