Jewelry Guidelines:

Understanding that the jewelry guidelines are introduced at the elementary schools and are consistent between each building and progressing all the way through to the high school, the expectations, responsibilities and accountabilities are greater for the high school since they are earning credit toward graduation.

The jewelry guidelines specifically state the following:

No jewelry is to be worn during Physical Education classes
(i.e. watches, bracelets, rings, hanging earrings, body piercing).

Dress Code:

Students participating in physical education class are expected to dress appropriately for the physical activity of the day.  Safety and freedom of movement are important elements in proper attire to participate. Students are also expected to take into account dressing appropriately for the weather. Since the weather is so unpredictable, students are encouraged to have warm weather clothes (T-shirt and shorts) & cold weather clothes (sweatshirt and sweatpants) stored in their PE locker at all times.

Athletic sneakers are to be laced and tied. Skateboarding shoes, boots, slip-on sneakers and platform sneakers are not acceptable.  Students are not only expected to have their sneakers laced and tied, but tied tightly to ensure proper support and prevent shoe from falling off during activity. Athletic socks are needed for sweat absorption.  Athletic shorts or sweat pants, t-shirt and/or sweatshirts are the norm.  Half-shirts, tank tops and button down shirts are not acceptable.

It is important not only for safety, but for your own personal hygiene that you have a proper change of clothes for class.  Clothing worn during school can not be worn for physical education class.

Locker Room Etiquette:

Students are expected to possess a personal combination lock to secure their belongings in the physical education locker rooms.  A "Master" combination lock is strongly encouraged. If a lock can not be purchased, students should inform their teacher of their situation.  During class, all personal belongings should be locked securely in a physical education locker.  Students should not give out their personal combination to other students.  Lockers should be secured and locked before, during and after class.  The physical education teacher may possess the combination for security and safety purposes.

It is required for all students to have a set of physical education clothes and sneakers available in their respective physical education locker.  Periodically, students should take their physical education clothes home to be cleaned.
