The meeting of the Board of Education was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Mrs. Janet Grey.
Pledge of Allegiance
Mrs. Janet Grey led those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
Emergency Exits
Mrs. Janet Grey pointed out the emergency exits from the room.
1. ADOPT AGENDA

Unanimously approved. Motion carried.
2. BOARD OF EDUCATION COMMENTS / REPORT
Several reports from board members were provided. Dr. Acker provided the Superintendent and fellow board members with a copy of the Book, “Disrupting Class” by Clayton Christensen. Dr. Acker spoke as to how the book outlines the ways in which data drives the manner in which students learn.
Mrs. Mary Blaauboer offered her compliments to Chris Culnan and his work with the cross country boosters. Mrs. Blaauboer was also very inspired by the events related to the Veteran’s Day Dash.
Mr. Rick Mincher welcomed Mrs. Robin Gawrys to the district. In light of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, Mr. Mincher offered his thanks for quality teachers and to all those who help the board, including Dr. Robinson and his fellow board members themselves.
Mrs.
Mr. Gary DiLallo commented on the wonderful production of The Scarlet Letter at the high school. He felt the students did an excellent job with very challenging material.
Mrs.
Mrs. Janet Grey congratulated the fall teams on all their success. Mrs. Grey also congratulated Mrs. Dora Myers on her work with the students for their production of The Scarlet Letter. Mrs. Grey referenced the final interviews for the Arongen principal position, and reflected on the talent of the four candidates.
STUDY SESSION PRESENTATIONS
Mrs. Laraine Longhurst introduced Mr. Rocky Ferraro (Capital District Regional Planning Commission) on his presentation for Shenendehowa’s enrollment forecasts.
The second presentation was on Innovative Food practices, by Mrs. Lisa Ostrowski, Director of Shenendehowa Central School District’s Food Service Program.
The next presentation was from Mrs. Jill Bush on the Overview of Program of Studies Review Process.
The final presentation of the evening was offered by Dr. Oliver Robinson on the Draft Budget Assumptions and Expectations.
All presentations were well received by the board of education.
