Non-Instructional Benefits Summary
SUSA
Non-instructional staff members who are appointed by the Board of Education and who work four (4) or more hours per day are eligible for health, prescription drug and dental insurance with Shenendehowa.
Health Insurance:
A comprehensive health insurance plan is offered through Empire Blue Cross. In addition, health insurance is also offered through two HMO plans: CDPHP and MVP .
Prescription Drug Insurance:
Prescription drug insurance is provided by Empire Blue Cross. It can be selected as a separate plan, or it can be selected in combination with one of the health insurance plans.
Dental Insurance:
Dental insurance is available with APA Partners.
Retirement plan:
Administered by the New York State and Local Employees Retirement System (ERS) www.osc.state.ny.us/retire.
Short Term Disability:
The District will provide short-term disability insurance (please refer to the SUSA contract for specific benefit information).
Life Insurance:
Life insurance is provided free of charge to employees working four (4) or more hours per day, with the benefit amount equal to five (5) times the employee’s annual salary.
Section 125 Benefit Plan:
Employees enrolled in health or prescription drug plans may elect to have their monthly premiums deducted from their paychecks on a pre-tax basis.
Employees are also eligible to contribute pre-tax dollars to a Flexible Spending Account. This money can then be used to pay for unreimbursed medical expenses or dependent care expenses.

Annuities:
Tax Sheltered annuity qualifying under Section 403 (b) of the Internal Revenue Code –employee choosing monies to the various designated companies chosen by the employee. www.omni403b.com ;
