SUBJECT: NOMINATION AND ELECTION OF BOARD OFFICERS

Officers of the Board of Education shall be nominated and elected by the simple majority of the Board at its Annual Organizational Meeting for a term of one (1) year.

The annual reorganizational meeting of the Board of Education shall be scheduled on the first Tuesday in July. The Board may, at its discretion, set any other date within the first 15 days in July.

The meeting will be called to order by the Clerk of the Board who will administer the oath of office given to each new or re-elected Board member and will preside over the election of the president and vice president. For election to office, a nominee must receive a majority vote of the full Board membership. If no nominee receives this vote, the election will be declared null and void and nominations will be reopened. Elected officers will serve for a term of one year or until their successors have been elected. No member of the Board may serve more than two consecutive years as president.

They will take their oath as officers at this meeting along with newly elected members.

The elected officers of the Board of Education are:

President;
Vice President.
