SUBJECT:  VIDEOTAPING, RECORDING AND BROADCASTING OF BOARD MEETINGS

The Board of Education strives to maintain clear and open public information and communications with the Shenendehowa and wider community regarding its deliberations, actions and decisions.  As a result, the Board recognizes the benefits of videotaping, recording and/or broadcasting of its public meetings.

The Board, in conjunction with the Superintendent, will develop Regulations that define the format, content, appropriate media, methods and protocols for videotaping and disseminating of all authorized recordings.  The regulations shall allow for annual review and modification as deemed necessary.

Further, the Board acknowledges that the videotaping of its public meetings or any of its committees by members of the public is permissible under state laws and regulations. However, the exercising of said right shall be unobtrusive and not interfere with the deliberative process of the Board of Education and the affected meeting.
