In order to be eligible to attend field trips each student must meet all of the following standards:

• The student must have completed 80% of the assignments in their core area classes.  Students will be given an SOS form at least two weeks in advance if they are in jeopardy of not meeting this requirement.

• The student must have demonstrated appropriate behavior in school. This includes classrooms, hallways, cafeteria and school buses. Any violations of the Shenendehowa code of conduct will result in ineligibility for field trips. More than one referral for lesser infractions will also result in loss of field trip eligibility.

• Students must have demonstrated effort in their classes as evidenced by their effort grades. Students who have received effort grades indicating "needs improvement" or "deficient" will be ineligible.

• Students must maintain exceptional behavior standards while attending field trips because they are representatives of Gowana Middle School. Any issues surrounding a student’s behavior on a field trip will result in a review of eligibility for future field trips, team and school activities.
