Students and parents need to understand that the portal only reflects graded assignments to date. There will be several assignments in a quarter including individual class work, group work, homework, binder checks, essays, classroom participation, quizzes and tests. A marking period grade will not be calculated until the end of the quarter.

Monday: Evaluate Expressions (can be found in textbook, section 1-3)

Tuesday: Review for Wednesday’s quiz (topics are: Sets, Graphing Sets, Exponents, Order of Operations, and Expressions)

Wednesday: QUIZ

Thursday: Translating expressions, working with formulas (section 1-3 and 1-6)

Friday: All classes will visit the computer lab to set up User Accounts for the online textbook (www.classzone.com)

Tuesday, September 21st: Pre-Quiz: Obs/Inf, Scientific Method review; independent variables, dependent variables & control, Identifying scientific method steps practice.

HW: Review vocabulary terms #1-19 (in vocab section of binders)

Wednesday, September 22nd:Turn in collages, ILS Pre-assessment – may carry over until Friday

HW: Look over lab safety agreement at the end of HW#1 packet

Thursday, September 23rd:  Variables/control PowerPoint, Journal notes for Ch. 1.1 & 1.2

HW: Study for Ch. 1.1 & 1.2 quiz; vocabulary, journal notes, Notes #1 & 2

Friday, September 24th: Quiz & complete ILS Pre-assessment, turn in P.o.W.

HW: Read Ch. 1.3, complete D.R. Packet section 1.3

Notes: There will be a quiz on Friday 9/24/10.

Students must: know the difference between observation and inference and correctly identify the

- know/identify the 6 steps of the scientific method and put them in order

- be able to match vocabulary definitions for vocabulary terms 1-19 in their binders
