Test and Quiz

Quiz after chapter materials during the week of 2/04/11

Be aware of the due dates as they are given.

In-Class Laboratories:

Making fossils: How do these rocks stand up to time and weathering?

  • Question: Are the fossils you find in rock always the actual remains that were left there?
  • Materials: Clay, Plaster of Paris, Fossil Sample, Graduated Cylinder, Triple Beam Balance, Water, Cup

Life-Earth Timeline:  How long have you and the earth been around (Ha-Ha!)

  • Question: Relative to the Earth's Birthday how, many centimeters ago was yours?
  • Materials: 4.5m Adding Machine Tape, Ruler, Book, colored writing tools

Involving Evolving: A look through time shows us how  small changes can lead to astonishing results.

  • Question: How might adaptation within a species cause the evolution of a particular trait?
  • Materials: Playing cards, Writing tool, Lab book, Bag of Jelly Beans
