Grading Policy

Homework: Homework assignments are worth two points. If homework assignments are not handed in on time or if the majority of the assignment is incomplete, they count as a missing assignment and are scored as zero points. If a student hands in an assignment after it is due, it will still count as a zero, but WILL count toward their effort grade. If a homework assignment is done in pen or is incomplete it will be scored as one point. Students will receive a note home if they miss 3 homeworks. If the note is not signed, it will be a phone call home. The 4th miss will be an academic referral.

Quizzes and Tests/Graded assignments: Quizzes and tests vary in point value depending upon the material. Tests will count twice towards student grades. There will be quizzes about once a week. Throughout the year, there will be several graded assignments which will also vary in point value.

Absences: Students that are absent are REQUIRED to see each of the teachers that they missed lessons for in order to get their missed work. This is the child's responsibility, NOT THE TEACHER'S!!!!! Assignments from when a child is absent will be due at the teacher's discretion.
