Curriculum
In sixth grade we begin with a mini unit on Learning about the Past. Next we review map skills and the students are introduced to the Five Themes of Geography. Then we study the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, Greece, and Rome.
We begin each unit by studying the geographic features of the area. We then explore the complex institutions, advanced cities, record keeping, technology, and specializations of each civilization.
