Grading Policy
All assignments are graded on a point system.
HOMEWORK-
Every homework assignment is used in class to introduce or reinforce a concept.
Each homework assignment is worth five points, unless otherwise specified. The
homework must be complete to receive full credit. If the
assignment is only partially done then it will be worth two and a half points, and a
zero will be given along with a teacher signature in the agenda if it is
incomplete or not in class at all. If a student misses three homework's they will
receive a lunch detention to make up missing work.
***Please note...Homework is a significant part of
the quarterly grade!***
TESTS and QUIZZES-
Every test and quiz is given with at least one to two weeks notice. Each test or
quiz will be sent home for a parent signature, the good, the bad and the ugly.
PROJECTS-
There will be a few projects we will do over the course of the year. Some will be done in just Science and others will be done with English. When a
project is introduced there will be a rubric which is distributed to each
student with the description and guidelines of the project. The rubric
will also include all major checkpoints and deadlines. We do encourage the
students to share the rubrics with their parents so that all expectations are
clear for the project.
