Would it be possible to have a student sit on the Board, but not actually count their vote? Someone like the SFA President could give a different point of view to the board members.

We have student representatives from SFA that present to the board at every business meeting .

Where can I find the typed minutes to Board meeting posted? I see that you have live video stream, but no typed minutes. Not everyone's computer can handle the live video streaming. Additionally, you would have to listen to the entire Board meeting rather than scroll down to a subject matter you were interested in.

They are on the same page as the video, scroll down. However, minutes are not posted until they are approved by the board at the next business meetings, so there is usually a 4-week lag time.

How long does it take for emails sent from the Shen home page to reach the BOE and Superintendent?  Also, what would be an approximate time frame in which to expect a response?

BOE e-mails are forwarded once or twice a week. It is for comments, feedback or suggestions, the board typically does not respond. If you have a specific question that requires a response, you are encouraged to contact the school office or department.
