SCHOLARSHIPS – Applications requiring an official high
school transcript ($1.00 Fee) or a counselor’s signature must be submitted to
the
Adirondack Mountain Club is
offering a $200 scholarship to a local senior who has shown an interest in the
preservation and protection of the environment.
He or she should be pursing a college degree in fields such as forestry,
marine biology, chemical engineering, environmental science, etc. More information is available in the
Chango Elementary PTA Scholarship – Two scholarships of $750 each will be awarded to
graduating seniors who attended and graduated from Chango. Student must have a satisfactory academic
record (B or above) and demonstrate participation in at least two of the
following areas: extra-curricular activities,
sports, clubs, community activities, family responsibilities, and/or
employment. Deadline to the
Christy Fund - This scholarship was set up in remembrance of Christina Massa, a member
of the Class of 2002. The fund will
award four $500 grants to student athletes who plan to continue their secondary
education and one $1,000 grant to a student who has taken a business sequence
and plans to continue their secondary education in Business/Marketing. Deadline to the
The Community Foundation Beryl Spector Scholarship is offering $1000 to a graduating senior who will be
attending a 2 or 4 year college or university in
CSEA Local 864 High School Graduation Award – There will be three $500 awards given to graduating
seniors who are children of employees represented by Local 864. Selection will be based on academic record,
school activities, outside work, community service and financial need. Deadline to

Region 4 is offering the 2008 Irving Flaumenbaum Memorial Scholarship to
seniors who will then automatically be in the running for the Pearl Carroll and
MetLife Insurance Company Scholarships.
This scholarship is being offered to CSEA members’ children. More information and applications are

Dawn Hobbs-Student Memorial Scholarship –This $500 award will be given to a senior in good
academic standing planning to pursue a degree in Special Education and has
volunteered or worked with students with disabilities or for a student with a
disability who is pursuing college or post secondary training. More information and applications are

Gowana PTA
– is offering two $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who attended
Gowana for at least 2 years. The major
emphasis of these awards is on student academic achievement during high school
and involvement in extracurricular and service activities. Applications are available in the
Hudson River Community Credit Union is offering four $1,000 scholarships to seniors who
are planning to attend college in the Fall 2008 and are credit union members in
good standing. Applications are

James Grande Award for Volunteerism – will award $750 to a student who is applying to a 2
or 4 year college. The college bound
student must demonstrate outstanding traits of character and service as evidenced
by participation in volunteer activities at school and/or in the

Macedonia
Scholarship Fund is
offering a $1000 scholarship to students of African ancestry that may be used
to purchase textbooks upon matriculating in an accredited two or four year
college or university. More information

Mohawk Progressive Federal Credit Union – is offering a $500 scholarship to members or those
eligible for membership. Applications

NY Lottery Leaders of Tomorrow – This scholarship is awarded to student leaders who
have demonstrated a strong academic performance, participated in
extracurricular activities and displayed commitment to community service. A $5,000 scholarship is distributed in $1,250
annual payments to one graduating senior from each participating public and
private high school in
The New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs
and New York State Showpeople’s Association is offering six $1000 scholarships to seniors who are
pursuing college degrees in an agricultural or fair management related
field. Applicants must download
applications from www.nyfairs.org and
submit with two letters of reference, an essay and high school transcript. More information is available in the
counseling center. Application deadline
is March 20, 2008.
Saratoga County School Boards Association – This is a community service award , $100 US Savings
Bond, to one graduating senior who has demonstrated exemplary service to the
community outside of
school. Interested students must submit
a resume of community service activities and include a statement of hours per
day, week or month at a specific activity to the
The Saratoga Hospital Volunteer Guild will award three $1000 scholarships to seniors who
have a cumulative high school average of 84.5% or greater, a record of
community service and planning to pursue a college program in a health-related
field, for example: pre-med, nursing, pharmacy, X-ray technology, physical
therapy, etc. Applications are

Schuylerville Community Theater is offering a scholarship to a deserving graduating
high school senior entering an accredited college in the Fall and majoring in
Music, Dance, Drama or Theater Arts. You
will be judged by a panel of judges on the demonstrated talent and skill in
your art field, as well as an interview.

Skano Elementary PTA Academic Scholarship is offering three $750 scholarships to former Skano
students. The student must have
graduated from Skano and attended for at least two years. The student must also have a grade point
average of at least 80 or higher.
