Power Point Performance Task : China & India
Topics/Rules
· Students will put together a power point presentation on one specific topic.
· Each student will be working with 1 partner or alone if desired.
· If working with a partner grade will be a shared grade.
· This Power point project will count as a Unit Test grade!
Guidelines:
· Each group is responsible for making a presentation of at least 15 slides.
· Necessary things in the Power point presentation:
o Title Page
§ Includes the names of students making the Power point presentation
§ Includes the title of the presentation
§ May include pictures
o Bibliography (the last slide)
§ That follows the MLA format
§ That includes any website, encyclopedia, newspaper or any other source (picture websites do NOT have to be included again)
o At least 2 pictures (that include the website taken from)
o Include a map of the Empire at its height and include the date (make sure to include the website the map was taken from)
o Timeline that puts the topic into context with other parts of Chinese and Indian History. Timeline must include at least 7 dates.
o Starting and Ending dates of the Empire.
o Include name Empire that came before and after your empire.
o The creator of the Empire- brief history & background of the person(s)
o Important Achievements of the Empire
o You should include at least 3 of these:
§ Art/Architectural achievements in the Empire
§ Literary achievements in the Empire
§ Legacy of the Empire
§ Other important leaders of the Empire
o Slide Requirements
§ Each slide must have a background color
§ Each slide must have a transition
§ Each slide must have animation
Topics:
· The 8 topics we will cover are:
Ø Mauryan Empire (include background on Chandragupta)
Ø Gupta Empire (include background on Chandra Gupta)
Ø Han Dynasty (include background on Liu Bang & Xiang Yu)
Ø Tang Empire (include background on Tang Taizong)
Ø Song Dynasty
Ø Mongol Empire (include background of Genghis Khan)
Ø Yuan Dynasty (include background of Kublai Khan)
Grading/Due Date:
· You will have 5 classroom days to complete this project.
· We will then give presentations in our classroom for 2-3 days.
· At the end of every day, each group is responsible for completing the daily check-off form and turning it in to be graded.
· Rubric for project is included in the packet and students should pay careful attention to grading procedure.

Ø If Turned in late:
Ø ½ day late -5 points (Turned in by the end of the school day or any time after class)
Ø 1 day late -10 points (Turned in the following day during class)
Ø 1 ½ days late -15 points (Turned in at the end of school day the first day late)
Ø 2 days late -20 points (Turned in 2 days late during class)
Ø 2 ½ days late -25 points ( Turned in at the end of school day the second day late)
Ø 3 days late -30 points (Turned in 3 days late during class)
