Today is an " X " Day

A reminder to all students: There will be NO late buses available on Monday, Wednesday or Friday afternoons this school year. Students are asked to get on their PM bus immediately following dismissal on these days or be sure to make other arrangements for transportation on these days.

Summer School Registration

Wednesday, June 26th, 2013 @ High School West. Hours: 8:00am - 12:00pm, 1:00pm - 4:00pm, and 5:00pm - 7:00pm. This 6 week session begins on July 8th and ends on August 12th. Regents exams follow. All information can be found at the Summer School Website.

Monday, July 15 at Glen Sanders Mansion, 5:30 - 8:30 PM - Cycle of Hope, a benefit for the Shenendehowa Educational Foundation and The Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center in memory of Shenendehowa students Chris Stewart and Deanna Rivers. Cost: $60 for one ticket, $100 for two. Guests are automatically entered into raffle for custom-made motorcycle. Where to Buy: http://www.mazzonehospitality.com or at the door. They are only selling 2,000 tickets so be sure to get yours as soon as possible should you want to go to the event and/or be entered into the drawing to win this spectacular motorcycle (which by the way is Shen Green and Shaker Blue!!)

Semi- Final Championship Game Deanna Rivers Memorial Softball All Star Game (rescheduled) will be help on Monday, June 24th. Time and location is TBD. Stayed tuned for more information.

Class of 2013- Seniors

Two new scholarship opportunities available in the Counseling Center. The Tri-City Valley Cats Baseball team is offering the New York Penn League Scholarship for $2,500 and also a $1,000 scholarship is being offered from the Saratoga County Medical Society for students who will further their education in the Health-related field. More information can be found in the Counseling Center.

If you are in need of a Handicap Parking Drop- off Pass for Graduation, please see Mrs. Pufky in the Principal's office.

Senior Exit Survey- the High School Partnership Team is asking all seniors to participate and complete one more survey before the end of the day on Friday, June 14th. The information you provide us will help the school get a better understanding of the overall high school experience you had here at Shen. Please stop in to the Drop-in Lab to complete this survey and fill out a ticket for a drawing of several prizes. The prizes include: Drive-in movie tickets, Gift cards and 2 Grand Prizes of 4 reserved up front seats at graduation and 2 reserved VIP parking passes. The survey can be accessed by going to the library Webpage and clicking on "Senior Exit Survey". Thanks for your support.

Class of 2014 Juniors .

AP Calculus for 2013/2014 school year- If you are registered for and are taking AP Calculus next year there will be a summer assignment. A letter will be mailed to your house with instructions regarding download and completion.

NHS Candidates- if you wonder whether your application has been received and is being processed, please check the NHS Bulletin Board which is located across from the main cafeteria and adjacent to Mr. Flynt's office.

Need Working Papers?- Working card applications are available in the Counseling Center. Complete the application and turn it in to the Counseling Center by Thursday, June 21st. If you have already turned in your completed application, don't forget to pick it up before you leave for the summer.

Taking World Cult World Lit next year?- there will be a mandatory informational meeting for all students taking WCWL in the fall of 2013 on June 17th in the High School East auditorium at 6:00pm. (*note new time) Summer assignments and books will be distributed.

Sports

If you are interested in coming out for a fall sport, please note that dates and locations for all preseason meetings can be found on the Shen Athletics webpage. Attending preseason meetings is an important step for any student thinking about trying out for any interscholastic sport.

PTSA News - High School

The first Capital District Tire Rack Street Survival class for 2013 will be held Saturday, June 15 at The Saratoga Auto Museum. A second class is scheduled for Saturday, August 17 at Fortitech in Glenville. Street Survival is a national safe teen driver program designed to go beyond driver’s education and give teens across the U.S. the driving tools and hands-on experience to become safer, smarter drivers Additional information about Street Survival, the cost of the program, and how to register is in the attached flyer.
