General Guidelines

Lab hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Scheduled classes in the library are given priority. Seating areas
will be reserved. A sign will be posted on the library door indicating
which periods classes are being held. Individuals entering the library
while classes are in session are expected to enter quietly and
respectfully.
- During periods 1 through 9, students must obtain a pass from a
teacher or study hall monitor to use the library except during lunch.
All students will have the opportunity to use the library during their
lunch period according to the guidelines listed below.
- Access to the library may be limited based on seating capacity or
behavior. When the library is full, a sign will be posted on the library
door.
Access to the Library from a Study Hall
- Students with a pre-signed pass from a teacher will have access to
the library. Students should obtain a pre-signed pass directly from the
teacher whose assignment requires library resources. The library staff
will notify teachers if one of their students misuses a pre-signed pass.
- Study hall monitors have the option to issue passes to three
additional students per study hall. The students will have access to
the library to select a book, read magazines or newspapers, or
photocopy. Study hall monitors will develop a rotation plan so all
students will have an opportunity to access the library. Monitors
will be notified by the library staff if a student does not
engage in academic work or reading.
- Students with a pass must sign in and leave their pass at the
Circulation Desk.
- Copies of daily sign-in sheets will be placed in monitors’ mailboxes
to verify attendance.
- Students will normally remain in the library until the end of the
period. If a student must return to a class or study hall, their
pass will be signed by library staff. The student must return directly
to their class or study hall.

period for quiet reading, research, homework or study.

minutes of lunch periods 4,5,6 or 7; no student will be admitted to
the library during the last 20 minutes of lunch periods 4,5,6 or 7.

homework or study after regular classes end at 2:40 p.m.
