Parent/Guardian Letter

September 4, 2005

Dear Parents/Guardians:

According to Jupiter Communications, there are currently over 17 million school-aged children online, and their parents and teachers are more computer literate than ever.  Now, ThinkWave.com offers a secure web community that enables teachers to easily and instantly inform students and their parents of their exact standing in the classroom; making a child’s progress in school a mouse-click away.

ThinkWave.com is a free web community that provides secure communications for parents, students, and teachers.  Parents and students can access the site at any time using a standard web browser, and can send feedback to teachers.  At the site, students and parents can view any of the following:

  • Details of upcoming lessons and class work

  • Results of tests and assignments

  • Absences, lateness, and other occurrences

  • Overall class standings and trends

  • Planned events

  • Comments and general communication with teacher (via email)

ThinkWave.com helps families become more involved in their children’s education.  It has opened a door to a new era of communication among parents, teachers and students.

Enclosed is the information sheet that describes how to access ThinkWave.com.  ThinkWave ensures the privacy of grades and class results transmitted online.  The safety, privacy, and security of personal information are a top priority for their company.  Again, ThinkWave is free, secure, and available 24 hours a day.

If you have any questions regarding ThinkWave or anything in general, please feel free to contact me at school or through email.

Sincerely yours,

Derek Dayton
