Grading Policy

  • Grades are not weighted.  Each assignment is worth a certain number of points, which makes up a portion of the points possible per quarter.

  • There is no participation grade, but participation shows effort, which in turn helps boost your grade.

  • Assignments: May seem frequent and may seem difficult, but ARE NOT if you stay on top of your deadlines (make sure to budget your time wisely) and pay attention to/ follow directions.  Use your calendars, the webpage and ask questions.

  • Assignments are not an all or nothing proposition.  Obviously the more you complete and the better the quality the more points you will receive.  However, homework is not taken after I check it, so showing me what you have done will get you at least partial credit.  For example, if a study guide is worth 10 points and you have half completed, show me half and you will get 5 points.  Also, projects are accepted late, but at 10% loss per day.  So you can still get points, but you should get it in as soon as possible.

  • I will not take excuses about your work.  You are responsible for completing things well and on time.  If you lose points because you choose not to do that, then take the lost points and do better next time.  It is better to lose some points now and learn the lesson, than to get fired from your job later...

Infinite Campus

  • I will grade things as quickly as possible.

  • A blank square means it has not been graded, a zero means a score of zero was achieved, and an M (which gives the student zero points for the assignment) means the assignment is missing.  A blank square does not mean an assignment is missing.
