Pens and pencils for you - Students should always have a writing utensil.

At least 1"  3-ring binder w/ loose-leaf  paper and a set of dividers (at least 8-tab).  This binder must be used for English only.  In the past when I have allowed students to use one binder for multiple subjects, students frequently try to spend English class time on one of those other subjects...

Current literary work

During our research paper unit, students will also need to have 3X5 index cards, and money to make copies of sources in the library.

I also highly recommend that students have a flash drive that they carry between home and school so that they always have access to assignments they are working on, and a homework folder to carry worksheets in so that they do not have to always carry all of their binders home.

ONE TIME ONLY - 1 pen and pencil for the classroom - This is  for  a class set.  If a student forgets their writing utensil, they may borrow one from the class set.
