A word about our program…

Quizzes:  at least one per week

Chapter Exams:  approximately 2 per marking period

How much homework? How much is it worth? What if I miss an assignment?

In an average week you will have approximately four homework assignments, usually consisting of one or two pages in your Realidades workbook.

Each daily assignment is worth one (1) point if done on time. Late homework will not be given credit, unless homework is missing due to absence.

What if I am absent for a quiz?

A quiz that is missed in the first half of the marking period must be made up before interim grades are turned in. If you do not make it up by the end of the first 5-week period, you will receive a 0 (zero) and will not have another opportunity to take it. Quizzes that are missed during the second half of the marking period must be made up before report card grades are turned in. We start fresh after interims and after report cards.

How will my report card grade for Spanish be calculated?

You will receive a certain number of points for each piece of work you do. At the end of the marking period your points will be added up and divided by the total number of points you could have received.

Does spelling count?

Yes. You should do the best job you can in spelling Spanish words.   Spanish words are generally spelled the way they sound. When learning a new Spanish word you should focus on three things: what it means, how to pronounce it, and how to spell it. Spelling a word correctly includes proper use of stress marks.
