Parent Information
SUNY SPANISH 12H
This is an Honor's level course. It equates to the first semester intermediate level as a university course. SUNY Spanish 12H is associated with the State University at Albany. For optional credit, complete the application form at www.myualbany.com. All billing will be completed through SUNY Albany.
Students must complete the course with a C average (72) or better to receive 4 college credits. The exact grade will transfer for those students electing to attend SUNY Albany in the fall of 2008.
Instruction in this course begins on day one and continues through the last day of classes in June. Due to this course being taught as part of SUNY'S University in the High School program, students will be penalized for missing more than 3 classes per quarter, regardless of the reason. This will be reflected in the Class Participation Evaluation Rubric which constitutes 20% of the grade. This rubric is a quarterly classroom self assessment and teacher assessment of each student.
If a student is absent on the day of an exam, parents MUST notify me by phone or email to verify the absence and preserve the integrity of the exam. Students will take the exam the next day. If there is no knowledge of this absence, the grade will result in a 0 for that exam.
