How to be successful in Spanish
Chile

Panama

1. Attend class! If you are frequently absent, it is difficult to catch up, especially when you are missing multiple classes. It is much easier to learn if you are in class on a regular basis. Try not to miss school unless you really have to. Most of the time students who are absent a lot have lower grades as a result. Try to avoid being late to school as well, because you will be missing your morning classes. Also, colleges look at your absences and tardies to school when reviewing your transcript.

2. If you are absent, see me to make up the work as soon as possible.

3. Pay attention in class! Just making an effort to focus on what I am saying every day will have a big impact on how well you do. Try not to let your thoughts wander.

4. Study! You should review your vocabulary and grammar on a daily basis. If you wait till the last minute it will be much harder to do well on the test. See below for some study tips.

5. Try teaching some Spanish to a friend or family member. This will help you remember it better.

6. Try watching DVDs in Spanish with the Spanish or English subtitles. You will be surprised at the words you will recognize.

7. If you need extra help for any reason, see me to make an appointment.
