Garbage is strewn across the streets, sewage spills from the neglected treatment centers into the city and the natural world has sunk into chaos and disaster. The percentage of people who actually leave their homes to intervene in the outside world is so small that it is an impossibility for those few to succeeding in getting the earth cleaned up.
