3-ring binder (at least 2 inches)
Lined paper
Dividers (5 tabs)
Grading System (Point System):
Homework 5 points
Class work……………………………..5-10 points
Labs 10-20 points
Tests 50-80 points
Students will receive a grade sheet each quarter to keep track of their science grade. To obtain student's grade: points earned ÷ total points available × 100
Late homework will be accepted until it is gone over in class.

Extra Credit: Available at the end of every quarter to those students having less than five zeros.  This will be discussed later in the quarter.

Effort Points: Each student will be given 10 effort points at the beginning of each quarter.  Loss of these points occurs due to coming to class without your binder or homework sheet. If you are late to class, you will lose an effort point. If you are late more than 3 times, a referral will result. Your binder must come to class everyday unless you are told otherwise. Any effort points not used at the end of the quarter will be added to your total points.  If a student continues to come to class unprepared, a note will be sent home.

Notebooks: A notebook test will be given at the end of each quarter worth 50 points.  Each page of handouts, that are graded, will be numbered and on the grade sheet.  Notebook organization will occur several times a quarter.

Absence: The day you return to school,
Check the Weekly Assignment Board/Website
Check the Missed Work File for any handouts you may have missed.
Check with a classmate to get notes/ answers to work that was returned.
Ö If you are absent the day before a test, you are still responsible for taking the test on the test day.
Ö All work, including tests, is to be completed within 2 days of returning to school or you will receive a zero for the test or assignment. For every day that you are absent beyond 2 days, you have a day to make up missed work. For example, if you are absent 4 days, you have 4 days to make up missed work. If you are going to be absent more that 3 days, please call the CAP’s Office and request your work.

Classroom Rules:
    Behavior
- Unacceptable behaviors such as excessive talking, rudeness, use of profanity, and disrespect towards anyone will result in a verbal      reprimand.  If the behavior persists a call home will result.  If the behavior continues, a referral will result.

Class Cutting - According to school policy.  Class points for that day, a HW, lab, test, etc, will be a zero.

Bathroom - Each student is allowed to go to the bathroom if:
                        a. It is an emergency
                        b. It is an appropriate time in the class to ask to go (use your judgment)
                        c. It is during "break time"
ASK FIRST and then take the restroom pass to enter the hallway.
Dismissal - The teacher dismisses the class, not the bell.  Class will not be dismissed until all students are in their seats, the floor, desks, and counters are clean and all lab equipment is put back properly.
    Consequences for Behavior Problems.

Verbal Reprimand
        Note home to parent
