Hello everyone! I teach Regents Earth Science and Physical Science at Shenendehowa High School West. I am so very excited to have the opportunity to share some time with you this year. I am looking forward to meeting new people and learning from the best teachers in the world, the students. I earned my B.S. from the University of Rhode Island in Geology. I worked for an environmental company for two years testing groundwater. Keeping our planet clean for all to enjoy and live on is one thing I am passionate about. I then attended Central Connecticut State University to become certified in Secondary Earth Science (grades7-12). I attended Walden University, earning my Master of Science degree in Integrating Technology into the Classroom. Some of my favorite school memories were of one of my high school science teachers dropping and throwing things through the classroom, and using a train set to create a roller coaster to demonstrate gravity and acceleration. I was so excited in that class along with my fellow classmates. "This is science?" I thought. I remember how vivid and energetic she was. She was sharing her wealth of knowledge through fun. The feeling of fulfillment and purpose I can achieve by bringing happiness to and encouraging growth in others is my primary motivation for wanting to become a teacher. I enjoying many things outside of teaching. I love to do crafts like scrap booking, jewelry making, and cross-stitch. Of course, you can catch me at the mall or movie theatre as well. Thank you for the opportunity to share with you this year. I am looking forward to the experiences and the memories I will keep with me forever.
